VOICES is thrilled to welcome Sandra Smith as our new Regional Program Director, overseeing the growth and operations of our Terre Haute office. With over 20 years of experience in juvenile justice, Sandra brings a deep understanding of systems change and a proven commitment to improving outcomes for youth and their families.
For Sandra, this role represents more than a new chapter; it’s a chance to help scale VOICES’ mission to new communities.
“Joining VOICES Corp means becoming part of a team that believes in the power of connection, compassion, and community to transform lives—where youth and families find hope, healing, and empowerment, one voice at a time,” said Smith.
Throughout her career, Sandra has collaborated with courts, schools, and community organizations to develop pathways that keep young people out of the justice system and connect them to opportunities. Her background and leadership will be essential as VOICES continues to expand its reach across Indiana, ensuring consistent access to wraparound care and restorative support.
“I’m most looking forward to strengthening partnerships across Vigo County and the surrounding region to deepen our impact,” Smith shared. “VOICES has proven what’s possible in Indianapolis. Now it’s about building the same collaborative network in Terre Haute so more youth and families can access the resources they deserve. Growth is only meaningful if it creates real, lasting change.”
Executive Director Kia Wright shared her enthusiasm for Sandra’s leadership and what it represents for VOICES’ next chapter.
“Sandra brings the expertise and heart we need to sustain this momentum,” said Wright. “Her experience in juvenile justice, combined with her understanding of community-based solutions, will help us strengthen our footprint in Terre Haute and ensure every young person in Indiana has the opportunity to thrive.”
With Sandra’s leadership, VOICES Terre Haute will continue to grow as a hub for mentorship, education, and healing — a place where young people can rebuild confidence, families can access support, and communities can work together toward safer, stronger futures.
Welcome to the VOICES family, Sandra. The future in Terre Haute is bright, and we’re just getting started.
