V.O.I.C.E.S. excels in working with trauma impacted youth that are searching for an identity. Utilizing Restorative practices, Art Therapy/Cognitive Behavior Therapy, creative art workshops, critical literacy, and mentoring allows us to assist youth and families impacted by violence, that have substantiated cases of abuse/neglect and CHINS cases. Our program allows staff, and volunteers to create trusting relationships through art and self-expression…allowing for root cause conversations to occur, and change to be fostered.
We offer several workshops to youth in the community between the ages of 9 -19 that teach life building skills and positive social interactions through spoken word/poetry, hip-hop, and self expression through creative arts. Each workshop is 4-6 weeks in duration and offered at different locations in the Indianapolis area in an effort to help eliminate transportation as being an obstacle. At the culmination of each workshop, there will be a ceremony open to friends and family of each participant.
